Know what we can read.
The tools support common UTF-8 text-based data and selected unencrypted XLSX worksheets. All file loading is limited in the browser to avoid freezing devices.
Supported now
CSV (commas and common delimiter detection), TSV, JSON, JSON Lines, newline-separated text and unencrypted XLSX worksheet values. Files up to 10 MiB are accepted by the interface; large datasets may still be slow on low-memory mobile devices.
Excel XLSX scope
Unencrypted XLSX ZIP/XML workbooks up to 10 MiB are supported for reading first-row-headed worksheets with cached values. Imports are bounded by row and decompression limits. Formula evaluation, formatting/charts, pivots, merged-cell behavior, protected/encrypted books, legacy XLS, XLSB, SQL, Parquet and arbitrary encodings are not supported. XLSX output creates one worksheet with text-only cells.
Important import details
Leading zeros, time zones, inferred numeric types and spreadsheet formulas must be reviewed in the target application. DataCleaner never claims to make all exports semantically equivalent in every tool.
